    Hi,

I'm trying to get a list of all personnel in the Squadron that went to Arnhem.

Any ideas where to locate this info.

    Thanks,

    Jason.

Oh, I got that just a couple of weeks back. I'm only on Chapter 5.

    Thanks,

    Jason

I have A, C, D Troop along with HQ and Officers group photos but no names to go along with them. Some of the Arnhem chaps may have already filled you in with those?

(Sorry I didn't have B Troop as first stated. I'll let Paul establish if I'm on the right track with the Officer one?)

    Just a thought ...

Rather than swap/share the info by PM's would it not be better to share it on here? That way other none members who are doing google searches will find it too.

These are all the group pics I have of the Recce Sqdn. The names in red denote the fact that they died as a result of Arnhem.
    L-R A Tp, C Tp, D Tp, HQ Tp

    All the best............:)

Good stuff Paul - names are always helpful! I'll post the 1 Recce Officer group but it looks a bit small for name tagging.

Thanks for the pic Cee. It's a shame it's a bit small, as you say. I wonder if anyone has a bigger copy?

    All the best............... :)

Here's the slightly larger copy of the Officers photo with names added. Whilst doing this I spotted my mistake with the picture of A Tp. I have shown some of the officers, Guthrie, Grubb and Galbraith as KIA but they weren't! Sorry for the confusion .........

Can anyone fill in the other names?

    All the best...........

    Paul,

Thanks for the Troop Photos. I have a question for you. In the A Troop Photo. Do you think the person in the 2nd from Front Row, 4th from the left is the same person in this photo below in the back right?

I think it is Dave. The facial structure seems to be there. This photo was taken back in 2006 on my first tour to Arnhem.

Dave, do you remember Ray crying at the Ambush spot this year. That family was the Daughter of the guy in the photo with Ray, Tom, Alma and I.

It's possible Jason But after 62 years I'd hate to have to put my mortgage on it!

I know through experience that trying to identify faces in photos is an extremely difficult task (there's a thread on here somewhere that proves my point! ;)).

I don't suppose you know how to get in touch with the Gentleman in the 2006 pic do you? If it would be possible to show him the A Troop picture you may get a definitive answer.

    All the best...............:)
