Hi as you all know my grandfather was a member of the above unit. I've got most of his history from when he joined to when he was a POW. What I'm missing is the period between November 1943 to September 1944 and between when he was released in April 1945 to November of that year. I know I could get his record, but I'd have to ask my dad as he is his nok. He's not very keen in this period of my grandfather's life. Thanks Dominic
I would suggest to get a general flavour looking at 181's War Diary if you haven't already.....In the UK for most of the time from Nov 43 till Sept 44 - exercises training etc......I would guess after release he got some leave and then not a lot on his return till demob/disbandment of 181......
