    CLI -
yet another casualty of the Gothic Line as the 56th Div approached Croce & Gemmano which left so many dead and was referred to as even worse than Cassino
    RIP all 14,000 of them

    owen -
the General of the 4th Indian likened that battle to that of Cassino - he would know that as he was at both meanwhile about a mile East of there we were battling to gain San Martino - when I lost a great deal of interest in the war on the Sunday 17th September
    Cheers
