I am looking for a map of the area of Schwerin and Ahrensburg and surrounding villages of where the Elbe was crossed by 15th (Scottish) Div in April 1945. Can anyone advise please.

The 8th Battalion The Royal Scots led the way across the River Elbe, making the 300 yard crossing from Artlenburg in Buffaloes. The approaches to the river were completely overlooked by the enemy. The Battalion then attacked through the woods of Forst Grunhof taking Krukow before entering Schwarzenbek.

Stolpi thanks for putting up the picture. It certainly confirms they were completely exposed as they made the crossing. Brave lads. Notably the 8RS were also in the assault crossings of the Seine and the Rhine.
