Does anyone have photographs of No.15 Elementary Flying Training School, Kingstown Aerodrome, Carlisle circa September and October 1942? I would be very grateful for either establishment or personnel photo's. Many thanks Collers
Maybe you've already found them but, just to kick off, this Google image search throws up promising threads on a couple of other forums: 'Kingstown / Carlisle' with 6 post-war establishment photos 'Where and when....?!?' with 2 (July 1942 if taken there) personnel photos (Teaser: I even wondered, until finding his middle initial was T rather than P, whether Joe might have signed the 2nd - in a fairly generic hand not so unlike that in his diary!) Yes I've done a bit of trawling Steve but nothing relating to my particular research has materialised. I too got a bit excited on seeing the Baker signature but on close scrutiny could see no resemblance to either Frank or Joe in any of the pics. Someone somewhere will have a photograph I'm sure.
