    Hi,
I have a 1945-48 Palestine medal named to the above soldier, he is on the 9 Squadron roll, he is entitled to other WW2 medals. Are there any squadron nominal rolls available to check if he served with them during WW2, his number indicates a 1942/43 enlistment. As far as I am aware he did not complete the parachute course so I assume he was a Glider soldier? Any help or guidance appreciated,

    Cheers,
    Rick

Do you know his full name, where he came from, family names?

He enlisted sometime between 23rd July to first week of August 1942., assuming he joined at 19 I am trying to narrow down any possibilities for a date of birth.

The book on the 9th Field Squadron RE at Arnhem,'The Shiny Ninth' by Patrick Pronk has recently been republished with an updated Nominal Roll - his name does not appear. Their next overseas deployment was to Norway following the German capitulation. As a matter of interest four people with very similar service numbers (commencing 1424) who all enlisted on 6 August 1942 were aged 22 or 23
