Evening All - Can anyone tell me anymore about the service of this unit until the fall of Singapore please. I am particularly interested in POW 948909 Gunner J A Wake who died in captivity 4 Nov 1943. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

The best bet is to get this book:

The Hertfordshire Yeomanry Regiments, Royal Artillery: The Field Regiments, 1920-1946 Pt. 1
    aka Volume III
    290 pages - Hart Books - 0948527056 - 978-0948527050
86 Fd Regt RA (NW Europe in D-Day); 135 Fd Regt RA (Malaya & Singapore); 191 Fd Regt RA (NW Europe)

It seems to be a lot easier and cheaper to get now than when i first found out about it!

135 Fd Regt (CO Lt Col PJD Toosey DSO, noted for his part on the Burma Railway) was part of 18 Inf Div.

This div was on its way to the middle east but was diverted to Singapore in Dec 1942. Not sure which bde 135 supported, in Singapore they seem to have supported various brigades. Not sure if the regt was in Malaya.
