11th Parachute Bn, April 1944, 'hang up'

I would be most grateful if anyone can shed light on a 'hang up' incident which occurred on 8th April 1944, involving Private Robert Henry Hales of 11th Parachute Battalion.

I understand that it was mentioned in at least one newspaper, but have not managed to find any reference.

Any insights appreciated!
