I am very interested in airgraphs. My father was a ground-based RAF radio operator in North Africa and then
Italy. I would dearly love to know where I can ask for information about F/SGT W. P. RICHARDSON 1022987
He was mentioned in despatches in January 1944. I have never seen any mention of a Squadron, Please can
    someone help?

I've moved your post from this thread as it seemed a bit lost there.

    Bill,

Can you please add his full name, DoB and possibly his pre-war address. That may help the sleuths here. I expect he has passed, so, was there an obituary?

He is shown on: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/36329/page/298/data.pdf Published 14/1/1944 amidst pgs. of RAFVR changes, I went backwards fro several pgs. to see why and stopped.

    Bill sent via a PM:
CMF is Central Mediterranean Forces, a designation for all forces in Italy and the Balkans.

Tried to identify the unit online, playing with No. 14 H.M. Wireless Telegraphy Unit and found very little. The exception being a rather general thread: Wireless telegraphy (wt)

Changed to Radio and this thread may fit: Ground based RAF Radio Operators - Western Desert
