Should point out - as Susan probably won't that her father was very badly wounded a few weeks before the end in Germany - spent 18 months in Hospital with a massive head injury - recovered but disabled - became a C of E minister - did a lot of work with ex servicemen and was awarded a CBE- also her uncle- AB Smethurst - also a Squadron leader in 5th RTR won an M.C. at Anzio before heading to Germany just another family doing their service- Major Crisp D.S.O. M.C.( Crispy ) was the Author of "Brazen Chariots " - an excellent read for those who want to learn about Tank Warfare… Cheers
