I am trying to find out the movement of the 1/9 battalion Manchester regiment between the 18th to the 26th of may 1940 there seems to be no war diary for the above dates possibly due to the fast movement of the retreat to Dunkirk ,any help will be gratefully received.
I've moved thread to the 1940 section of the forum so the chaps that inhabit that bit of forum will see it.
They seem (mostly) to have been under command of 5 Div (who were GHQ reserve) for much of the time. It may be worth looking at the 5 Div diaries as there may be copies of orders there. This diary has the look of one written up afterwards from sparse notes to replace a lost original. The note about the nun suspected of spying being shot by CMP is a bit worrying. Poor woman.
Thank you very much. There must be a problem with this computer machine. Some pictures show up in this forum and some do not. I thought it was just older pictures based on what was appearing. Thanks very much for your time!
