Hi all, I am looking for after action reports from the 3th US infantry division. The period i am looking for is October and november 1944. In that time the 3th US infantry were pushing trough the vosges mountains were some heavy fighting took place. If someone can help me with that would be nice. Best regards Arno
Unit History of the 3rd US Division is on Fold3.com, but you need a subscription to read it? Page 1 Unit History - 3rd Infantry Division - Fold3 If their is something specific you are looking for I could look thru the chapter on the Voges’s and copy the appropriate pages for you??? I note the History is quite detailed Page 263 Unit History - 3rd Infantry Division - Fold3
Hi thank you, i gonna read this. I hope i can do something with it. I visit the vosges in september so i look for locations to visit. Most of the area is forest so it is difficult to figure out where troops have been. In after action reports are mostly coordinates. When i translate those it is a lot easyer.
Arnos, I do not know if you are aware of the volume of the Official History of the US Army in WW2: RIVIERA TO THE RHINE Jeffrey J. Clarke, Robert Ross Smith It might contain some info you are lookig for. A digital copy is available over here: CMH Publications Catalog - RIVIERA TO THE RHINE
