I have no idea who originally penned this document, nor whether it's completely accurate throughout, but on the face of it it looks reliable: an alphabetical list of nations, colonies and territories that were at some stage governed by the British and a list of the governors, governors-general, residents, consuls-general, high commissioners etc appointed to govern them with the terms they served.

I downloaded it from a virtual magazine aggregator?!

    Charley,

It is also available on: https://empiretocommonwealth.webs.com/PDFs/British Empire Governors.pdf and this odd website: (All British-appointed Governors throughout the Empire) Pages 1-50 - Flip PDF Download | FlipHTML5

Scanning through for those I know a little about it is accurate. Slightly puzzled the entry for New Zealand ends with General Freyberg in 1952. He was the last appointment not to be born and resident in New Zealand. The current office holder is three quarters Maori. See:Governor-General of New Zealand - Wikipedia

It is an odd entry for South West Africa, as it ignores South Africa exercised full control 1915-1978.

Likewise South Africa's Governor-General ends in July 1943, when the role ended in May 1961. See: South Africa - Wikipedia

Remarkably a Mark Young, later Sir Mark Young served in four places assuming it is one person: November 1931 Palestine; 5/8/1933-March 1938 Barbados; 1938-19/6/1941 Tanganyika and September 1941-May 1947 Hong Kong.
