Hi I am looking for any info on the above unit. A relative of mine served in this unit and Number 5 Sub-Unit and I have a photo taken in Belgium of him. He was a Sergeant PTI and I think his army number was a batch issued to the Royal Artillery. From what I know from family members, he was stationed at some time in Aldershot and or Catterick. He served from 17th June 1940 to 6th Feb 1946. Any help would be appreciated. Bob
52 Reinforcement Holding Unit was under command 105 Reinforcement Group on VE Day and stationed on Boomgard Straat, Bruges Belgium moving to Artillerie Kaserne, Osnabrück Germany Oct 45 and the unit was disbanded Sep 46 Hope this helps 21st Army Group later British Army of the Rhine (under construction)
Many thanks for this info. Do you have any info on their role? My relative was a PTI so I guess would have been bringing soldiers back up to fitness. I have a couple of other questions. Where were they stationed before going overseas? When did they go? Regards Bob
Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you "Come and Go" 105 Reinforcement Group magazine No 7 October 1946
