I am doing research on individuals held in the Rennes Military Hospital where wounded Allied PWs were treated. Using the Forces War Records site I have found some individuals who are identified against the British Army Air Corps (AAC). This organization was comprised of the Parachute Regiment, Glider Pilot Regiment and Air Observation Squadrons. I am not sure if Glider troops are included in the AAC.

Any way I am listing below those individuals from the AAC and would like any input from you on which unit these guys belong.

Sorry Sirjahn - I don't have any of my files with me for the next 6 weeks so can't check on for you. Titanic officers were both from 1st SAS and I'm pretty sure that Merryweather was the same but I can't confirm which squadron he was in off-hand.

P.S - someone here may be able to locate a POW questionnaire for you which might give details of Rennes hospital treatment as well as sub-unit etc

I have worked with a number of guys in the PW forum and have what Rennes E&Es are available both British and US. My goal is to put together a complete as picture as possible of the hospital, its operations, personnel both German and Allied, and its liberation. Eventually I will be creating a website for it.

    Hi

Both HUrst and 5568370 Saunders were on Titanic they were members of 'A' Sqdn. Merryweathyer was on 'B' Sqdn. I have not been able to find e/e reports for either Hurst or Saunders.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

I dont know if this thread is still active but I was curious about the Americans from the 508th that got picked up with the Titanic group

I know one is Captain N Berry 508th

I was wondering if anyone knew the others?
