Nr. Bayeux or Tilly Sur Seulles - could anyone help further identify where these Sherman tanks are?

Re. IWM B5416 - briefly mentioned in post #6 above...

THE BRITISH ARMY IN THE NORMANDY CAMPAIGN 1944

I have seen it posted quite a few more times over the last few days, indeed, lots and lots and lots etc. albeit, I still find it a little incongruous given it relates in description to St. Leger and the 24th Lancers were very heavily engaged largely fighting elsewhere.

In terms of "people's favourite 24th Lancer picture" it's therefore very low on my "list" currently ;-) as for every time I think of further studying it I realise that I've just been distracted from the events of 10th-11th-12th June 1944 - as it seems unrelatable somehow to the events happening much further to the South of St.Leger at Point 103, St.Pierre and Cristot...

Re. Lance Sergeant / Acting Sergeant John Thomas "Paddy" Caulfield M.M. with Bar - 7927801
Trained as a Gunner/wireless operator in "A" Squadron of the 24th Lancers
Acting Sergeant from 20th April 1944.
Troop Sergeant / Commander of the 2nd tank in the 4th (Firefly) troop of "A" Squadron of the 24th Lancers.
    MM - 26th June 1944 - with 24th Lancers
Transferred to the 1 RTR on the disbandment of the 24th Lancers.
    MM - Bar to Military Medal - with 1 RTR - 23rd August 1944 -

Nb. There is a reference to his having also been wounded which appears to possibly relate to his time with the 24th Lancers - however his transfer soon after to the 1 RTR and his bar to the MM mitigates against this having incapacitated him. The citation to the Bar to his MM - with the 1 RTR - also mentions his having been wounded with them, when wounded to the head in the action for which he received his second MM.

  3. The Sherman III above is followed by three Fireflies:
    A70 43-1 - 480- 1944-06-11 - Gross - 01.08 - Sherman tks 24 L - 000.jpg

and preceded by another Sherman III. Note the "Fox Head" route marker on the right:
    A70 43-1 - 480- 1944-06-11 - Gross - 01.01 - Sherman tks 24 L - 040.jpg

The tanks then turn right onto a tree-lined road, where two of the Fireflies are photographed by Sgt Midgley while Sgt Gross continues to film, before turning right again:
