Hi all, I am trying to locate a Hugo FC Haynes he was in the RAF and based at Blackpool during 1939 to 1945 I am not sure if he was a flight lieutenant, The reason I am trying to Locate his whereabouts or what happened to him is my Grandma was a child that was evacuated during this time and was one of the children sent to Lythan st Anne's during this time! She always talks about him and tells us of How kind he and his wife Peggy was towards her during this difficult time.i would really like to find out more about him so I could let my Grandmother know what happened to him and his wife! Hope someone can help or give me some advice? Many Thanks

OK - surfing around Ancestry I cannot find a death result for him, so that lead me to think that perhaps he did not die in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. This threw up the thought that perhaps as many, after the second world war, emigrated, so checking out passenger lists I came across: Hugo Haynes in the UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 Name: Hugo Haynes Gender: Male Age: 37 Birth Date: abt 1914 Departure Date: 2 Oct 1951 Port of Departure: Liverpool, England Destination Port: Montreal, Canada Ship Name: Empress Of Canada Search Ship Database: Search for the Empress Of Canada in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database Shipping line: Canadian Pacific Official Number: 160631 Master: J P Dobson When you look at the list it seems that he emigrated to Canada, with his mother (Alice), wife no2 Winifred, and there 2 children (Diane 7 and Hugo 6) So it looks as though you will need to research Canadian genealogy if you wish to contact them. Hugo Frank Chatsworth Haynes died 19 March 1996 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia as a result of congestive heart failure. His son, Frank, was the informant. Regards, Dave
Peggy remarried twice under her maiden name, in 1944 to Victor Henry Graham registered in Shardlow Derbyshire, the place of her marriage to Hugo. Then again in 1954 to Michael Hales Court at Derby register office. A Peggy Court b.1917, the same year as your Peggy died in 2001 in Derby.
Hi Marc, I am Hugo’s granddaughter from his second marriage to Winnifred. Yes he moved to Canada with Winnifred and my Mom and Uncle. I’m now looking for relatives from his first marriage as there’s a possibility my mom and uncle have siblings. My Grandad was an amazing man. So intelligent. I miss him. Feel free to ask questions and I can get answers from my Mom, his daughter, Dianne.
Hi Tara, Marc has not visited the board since 2017. I've sent him a PM advising that you have posted. Regards, Dave
