I'm hoping that some one can help me here. o_O I'm looking for a list of the SS units/companies/etc that were trained IN POLAND *AFTER* it fell to Germany. Most specifically, I'm looking between the years 1939 (late) to 1941 (early). If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be a great help. Thanks! :D

If the information you require is similar to that below, I suggest you spend a good deal of time on this site.

Od 1943 czesc Ostlegionow byla podporzadkowana Armii Zapasowej: or

In early 1942, Legionary training camps were set up behind the front in the Ukraine, and in the General Government of Poland. At this time the fledgling Georgian Legion was sent to Kruszyna in the west Ukraine for basic military training. NCO's (termed Gruppenfuhrer in the Legions) were sent to a school at Legionowo, while Officers (Zugfuhrer and Kompaniefuhrer, identifying lieutenant and captain respectively) were trained separately in command procedures under a German staff designated Kommando der Ostlegionen in Polen. The Georgian volunteers were issued with standard Wehrmacht/Heer basic kit. Feldgrau tunics, trousers, jackboots/stiefel, m42 stahlhelm and Kar98k rifle. On their right arm, centered, was a red shield, with the upper left quadrant split black over white - GEORGIEN is woven in white on the crest. Later on in the war a standard Uniform was created for all Osttruppen - similar to the German issue but without the Hoheitsabzeichen and with stylized rank tabs and eppaulettes in red, trimmed by white. These uniforms were never produced in quantities that allowed them to be distributed widely.

I forgot to mention that the SS units I am looking for would be Germans, not Poles or any other "non-Arian" race at the time. Strictly German SS units that were training in Poland after it was occupied.

    Thanks.

By August 1943, 800 French candidates were drafted into the Waffen-SS and sent to a training camp at Sennheim in Alsace. In November 1943, 20 French Officers were sent to the SS training camp at Bad Tolz and 100 NCO's to SS school at Posen Treskau. The French volunteers received German Waffen-SS uniforms. In March 1944, 1538 Frenchmen along with trained Officers and NCO's were assembled as a complete formation at the Waffen-SS training camp located at Beneschau near Prague. On 30 June 1944, the unit was designated as the "8. Freiwilligen Sturmbrigade Frankreich." Other sources referred to the brigade number as 7th, nevertheless the French unit was commonly referred as the "SS Sturmbrigade Frankreich."

The Trifos collar tab was the standard insignia issued to the "Freikorps Danmark." These tabs were provided to Danish volunteers when they arrived at the training camp in Hamburg, which included the aluminun bullion hand made Trifos for officers. It was carried during the stay in Hamburg and also on arrival at the Posen-Treskau training camp in September of 1941. However it was immediately removed upon arrival to Posen and replaced by the popular SS runes.

I found those informations about SS school at Poznan here http://axis101.bizland.com/Charlemagne1.htm

By the way, there is a nice military training area near Poznan till now.

One more thing. At last one training company of SS grenadiers from SS Schule Treskau (the same I mentioned above) took part in pacification of Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

It's Ok. There were NO Polish-SS units ever created.
And even if such units would have been created they won't even get to front line.
Polish resistance would blast those traitors apart seconds after leaving their training grounds ( or even earlier )

Hmm.. interesting site laufer. Dzieki za nia.

Codename "Tannenberg" - part of the action started September 1, 1939 and ended in October resulting in at least 20,000 murdered in 760 mass executions by special units, so-called Einsatzgruppen, in addition to regular Wehrmacht units, police and SS. The plan of the operation was created in May of 1939. It took place in northern and western part of Poland.

SS-Verfügungstruppe (there was no Waffen SS yet) in Polish Campaign:
    regiments Deutschland, Germania, Leibstandarte.
Part of the division Kempf was from SS.
The SS Cavalry Brigade was a unit of the SS formed in 1940, from cavalry squadrons created for security service in Poland. They conducted anti partisans operations and were involved in the extermination of the Jewish population in the Soviet Union during early stage of Soviet Campaign.
