looks like its taken a direct hit from a rocket. ouch. neve rmind Owen, you live and learn. Now this summer must make an effort to do the Lanc and Mossy been sat on top of the bookcase for nearly ten years now. Thing is I can't quite recall how to put a sodding model together correctly. That should make Owens mistakes look simple.
I like Humbrol 116 as my Ivan green. BTW how was the kit? Igetting to really like the Italeri stuff, dead cheap and some of them are really good. A tip for the seperate linked track is dont put the drive sprocket on till you do the tracxk. I allways find that the sprocxket teeth will be in the wrong postion. Do the road wheels and the idler and then do the bottom run od track. When its time to do the slopy up bits of track then postion to sprocket so the teeth are correct. I always forget. Kev Ah, that was somthing else I didn't think about, but by happy chance it worked out OK on one side but too late to for other side as sprocket already glued in postion, hope tracks match up to teeth.
Unfortunately Kev, it got worse. It carried on melting as I tried to fix it. Couldn't even gouge the filler out. Here is the damage. Lessons to be learnt, as Za says "Read the f*****g manual." Don't use Humbrol filler in big dollops, go and buy my old friend Milliput. Stick to figures. Moose - inadvertantly that is a fantastic representation of roughly cast russian armour with big welds. Or not. Either way, it's a classic!

Just tell everyone it is a slightly under-inflated full-size russian inflatable decoy tank, that of course the red army used in massive numbers to waste german ammunition.

The turret is still melting, it's all soft and squishy. If it is still soft and suishy then take the chance to very carefully mould it back into the shape it should be.
I hate Humbrol Enamels, shook & stirred matt 102, army green, painted the one with melted turret. Come home from work to find it's dried semi-gloss. I am tempted to stick in the middle of the lawn in the morning and shoot the fecking thing with me longbow.
Just had some great fun with me longbow, it was far more enjoyable than making it. The JS-2 was about 10 paces away, just under the X , hit turret off with fifth arrow, then killed it about sixteen arrows later. Rather small target that. In case anyone wonders why my fletchings are blue & yellow, same colours as 43rd Wessex Div Badge.

Just to let you know that not everything went wrong the running gear and tracks went on the detailed model OK. Thought I'd paint running gear before adding superstructure. Looks like paint drying matt this time. Would have been nice to have some sag in the tracks.
