No army, no matter how good, can withstand the power of nature when it hits them head on. Napoleon, Hitler anybody would be taken down by a Russian winter. Yes, they should have started earlier and taken more supplies with them, but they did not know what to expect. A freezing climate such as Russia's in winter will freeze the diesel and oil in machinery and kill men. The only way forward there was to air bomb in front and run your way through the defences on the ground that way to give the army chance to bed down for the bad weather. Lessons were learnt, and even a modern army would think twice before trying it. And Stalin, why don't you post your personal details? Are you afraid we'll realise something about you?
hitler did know what to expect. in fact, he did everything right [bombing etc.] and it's not winter all the way, summer is pretty hot out there. why russia is invincible is matter of metaphysics. what personal details?
He is Russian... As Hitler, I would: Listen to what the pilots had to say about the Battle of Britain Try to get Mussolini to see some sense and stopping getting his ass kicked and need to be rescued by German troops Leave the running of the war to the Generals Get a total war economy in 1940 not 1945 Try to seem like a liberator in Russia not an invader

Why waste good men and machinery in a no-hope theatre? definitely listen to the pilots - and speed up the research on new fighters to keep pace with the Spit's developement throughout the war. Leave the war to the generals? Where is the fun in that? Still wouldn't have invaded Russia until everywhere else was sorted out and delivering men and goods to Father Germany.
Cool quote by FDR in your signature mosquito! Never heard that one. Sounds like something Churchill would have said.
