I spotted this "Rat Trap" list in the "Crusader" a weekly paper from May 1945. I can imagine that there was a lot of interest in the fate of European war criminals immediately after the war, but I wonder whether the majority of the British public had lost interest by the 1950s? I was far too young in the mid 50s to know what the-word-on-the-street was, so can anyone remember if it still featured heavily in the news or in general conversation at that time?
