Can someone tell me the name of the 1940's Norwegian general who has a statue in the Oslo castle grounds? I just can't make it out on the picture...

Thanks Spidge, could well be. I'll study the original carefully tonight to see if I can make that name out.

Otto Ruge took over command following the German invasion and became the man of the moment. He was responsible for the counter attacks and the battle for north Norway. After te surrender he refused to be part of any Norvegian Quisling Nation and became a prisoner of war in Germany. He severley p*** off the Germns by getting a message out to the Nprwegians every May 17th (Independence Day) despite being a prisoner.
