Hello. I'm looking for some extra information if there is any.

My grandad was Frank Cackett, 5th Battalion of the Buffs Royal East Kent Regiment and after researching on here, I found a lot of exciting things about what happened to him. I now know he was part of the A Company, and went to Le Havre in April 1940, only to be captured on the way to Arras in May. I found the war diary on here too! Thank you for that.

I know my grandad went to Stalag 344b and luckily survived, but I'm just wondering if there is any more information out there about the 5th battalion, or anything specifically about my Grandad? What I would love is pictures but I know that probably isn't possible.

Surely there must be documents with his name on to do with the POW camp? Or maybe I've found out all I can now.

Anything extra would be greatly appreciated.

    Leanne.

Hi Leanne - He may have completed a PoW Liberation Report. These are held at the National Archives and forum member Nick Fenton looks these up occasionally for people.

    Cheers

You mentioned on another post in a reply to me that you have information regarding The buffs involvement in France 1940.
are there any books or anything at hand you have there about it?

    Thanks
