This week i spotted some medals in a junk shop window 1939-45 star Italy star and war medal with box and KIA slip the box looked big for just 3 medals, The shop keeper said he had researched them he said he was a rear gunner in a wellington bomber killed in Italy they are for sale at £120. would he only recived 3 medals ?. Over the past few years i have had great fun collecting items from ww2 except for some of the rip off dealers and story tellers

I would say he was probably a backfill for the squadron. Regards simon
i know what you mean, about 2 yrs ago i was in oklahoma city and i went into a junk shop, didn't find anything until i just about to leave when i spotted a tiny show case it had a cvsm in it for $3.00 i had to get it,lol. as i was paying for it i mentioned i liked other canadian stuff as well, he then went to a different case and pulled out the overseas service bar for the cvsm! he called it a tie pin! so i had to buy it for $2.00 as well lol

Today I returned to the shop and to haggle for the medals but he also had a Burma set with a territorial medal marked 2572628 SGLN .T.W. BULLEN. R. SIGNALS. The other medals are marked BULLEN. JW SIGNALMAN 2572526. The other set with air council sorrow slip named SERGEANT R.B.J. MARCH And the box addressed MRS E. MARCH 3 CORAN CLOSE. EDMONTON, N,9. Also a gas mask bag, just the thing for a man bag for Normandy 2012. Now I must learn how to research.
