      Hi Bernard85. Many thanks for your comment. I enlarged the original photograph and on the tank it appears to say BSA (above the registration number printed on the tank). I must admit that I had not noticed this before. In the early 1980's my father renovated a wartime, 500cc, single cylinder bike, the make of which I can't remember. It was a scary thing to get going, the kick back on the kick start was viscious, but once going it was a pleasure to ride (not that my father knew my brothers and I were riding it mind you!)
