IntSum 8th Corps + 12th Corps for these days, also two pages of POW Interrogation from member of Werfer-Abteilung 500
    Perhaps of help
Regarding the Panther I could imagine stragglers from PzBrigade Westfalen - but this area isn´t exactly my "playground"

At least the tanks mustn´t belong to any SS unit. More than often witnesses confused the black tanker uniforms with those of the SS
And the entire area between Paderborn and Osnabrück was utter chaos with a plethora of splinter units who were driven eastwards
the majority stranded either in the Harz mountains or at my doorstep in the Dömitz Bridgehead
The IntSums gives a good clue about the "organization" or better the lack of it

Is this the area where Adolf had the 'Nazi train loaded with gold' buried in a tunnel?...the one they were digging for a couple of years ago after the buried Squadron of Spitfires hadn't been found out in Thailand?..... :)

Intriguing thread: a perfect mix of fantasy, delusion, conspiracy theories and good quality hard facts. :) Just now need to figure out which is which (NB: I do actually know that bit).

No. The "Nazigoldzug" was in Poland: https://www.tagesspiegel.de/gesells...ach-nazigoldzug-vorerst-beendet/22875186.html

But regarding the topic - the only units present that day around Espelkamp were the 3RTR and 4 KSLI, right? And both dont seem to mention the level of resistance that is report from the German side. I now have the full newspaper article the "Tiger" tank photo was taken from. I can type it and translate it for here.

And this 2000 SS fighters reveal as a weak bataillon of juvenile conscripts just arrived from Denmark - as expected
Most of these Tales rosed in pre-internet times, usually having in common SS-troops, Wonder Weapon Technology
    and the fundamental thesis of
"The absence of evidence is no evidence of absence" :D

I remember Dömitz quite well. In 1981 a number of members of my battalion went on a tour of the Inner German Border sponsored by, I think, the Neidersachsen authorities. The aim was to give us an understanding of the realities of the then-divided Germany. It was an eye-opener and the tour ended in a Dömitz gaststatte with an excellent lunch of beer, schinken and bread. Perfect!

I was interested to note that the author of the report was Major Poston. Poston was an 11th Hussar and one of Montgomery’s liaison officers who had worked for him from the North African campaign onwards. He was killed on 21 April when ambushed in his jeep on the Luneburg Heath when returning to Monty’s tac HQ from a liaison mission. Monty was extremely upset by Poston’s death.
The report is therefore not by 11th Armoured Division but rather Poston reporting on the division’s progress to HQ 21st Army Group.

Royal Army Ordnance Corps definitely recalled the event as did Field Marshal Montgomery who recorded it in his diary which is archived.

"RAOC Gazette October 1946 states DDOS of 8 Corps found a factory engaged in production work for the German Atomic bomb"

Dirk Finkemeier uncovered facts when an elementary school built over the underground enrichment plant suffered youngchildren dying from radiation poisoning . The school's grounds were contaminated by Uranium. He was involved in legal proceedings as a lawyer. Hardly a figment of his imagination.

Dirk Finkemeier claims to be observed by a secret service, also researches Reichsflugscheiben, etc., etc., etc.....
for which he has found just as solid evidence as for the Nazi atom bombs. At least if one accepts a confirmation bias by means of petitio principii as a foundation for such "evidence".
In this way, one can prove everything, even the opposite.
    my goodness..........

As an ammunition plant and one that dealt with chemical munitions, it is entirely possible that children at Espelkamp were contaminated by some pretty unpleasant material. However, I am not aware of any reliable source that suggests the presence of radioactive material.

Incidentally, I’m not sure how keen I am on Kiwiguy’s avatar. Do the Mods have a view?

There is no rule concerning choice of Avatar or would your preference be to limit all discussion on foums to topics which agree with your opinion?

Britain held Nazi nuclear scientists /enginers captive at Alswede until 1948, so they could continue operating Nazi Uranium centrifuges to harvest enriched Uranium for Britain's nuclear power project and UK'S first Atomic bomb.

spare parts were scrounged to keep the centrifuges at Espelkamp operating

That they only made 250 POWs shows just how awesome these SS dudes were, they all escaped.

    All the best

What Dirk believes about UFOS is not even relevant, just a Strawman fallacy.
    Google QUOTE:

A straw man argument is a misrepresentation of an opinion or viewpoint, designed to be as easy as possible to refute. Just as a person made of straw would be easier to fight with than a real human, a straw man argument is easy to knock to the ground.

65% of Americans believe in Aliens.. I do not believe in UFO'S so your attack on me via attacking Dirk is utterly irrelevant.

I am however 100% confident most Americans are crazy., but I know for a fact that Dirk Finkemeier researches his facts meticulously and cites his sources from Kew PRO archives, often by photographing the original documents

I notice you still can't refute the RAOC Gazette except by innuendo and personal smear attacks?
