Dunkirk 1940. Inland. France & Belgium. Photos, some never seen before

    Is it a resi bag? it looks a bit small and with there being bits on both sides my initial thought is Supplementary Pouches - the flap looks a bit boxed too with side panels, its just a thought, I'm struggling to pick out detail to be clear exactly what it is

    Yes, I wasn't certain, but it looked more canvas than webbing and the flap looked large....There is the other one to take into account of course which suggests you may be right. If so, then it means that at least one set of 1940 Supplementaries avoided the direct journey from long-term storage to post-war surplus:)

    Holland, Belgium or France 1940. Can any one ID the area these colour slides were taken. Does not look like Holland. Not a lot to go on.

    Could this be Chem. du Halage, Tournai, looking east from the west bank of the Scheldt?

Hello the church is Saint Zephyrin 39 rue paul Bert in 59240 dunkerque /Rosendael , what is in the circle is the entry of the old brick factory , still present on the boulevard de la république francois Mitterrand, so according to that the gun is in the vicinity of the avenue Kléber in malo les bains

    Captured Morris PU in prang, German MP with his measuring tape, you can`t see much with the side screens on. WH reg number. Could it be in France?.[cafe].
    Won`t take long to knock that dent out.

    'Q2' should have been the Quartermaster's 30 cwt in a Field or Medium regiment...I wonder what it's doing on a PU ?

    Actually, it is the lighter 25-mm Puteaux Mle 37, of which around 2,130 were produced. Small numbers were delivered to the BEF from late April 1940, supplementing the 220 Hotchkiss delivered to Britain just before the war.

    Number 23 aos is from the 51 Heavy Regiment RA.
