I collect military photos from ww1 to the 1960s and now and again I make a book on my photos and just print one at a time so I can update them as a hobby. Here are a few i made.
Near La Panne. About 24 bofors guns were placed at 50 yard intervals on the beach and did very good work. Photos are from my collection and may not be at La Panne. [ From War Diary of the Ulster Searchlight Rgt RA.] info from Drew 52333 on 3rd (Ulster) Searchlight Regiment RA, BEF 1940
Thanks for the photos Keith, new here so very gradually working my way round this excellent forum. I am so new here I just clicked on the link to sign the petition for a 1940 Campaign Medal on page one of this thread only to be told it had closed. I suspect January 2018 had something to do with it Like so many others on here, I’m sure, I often wonder if grandad was in any of the photos or film clips I have seen from Dunkirk. The beach images, the disembarking from the ships, was he on that train back in Blighty where you see them chomping on their sarnies...did he use any of those piers or was it away via the mole? It’s nice to think he may be somewhere in one of those images. Thanks again for sharing these incredible images.
