    Amazing, he was the only one with that distinct button, hopefully they can find his family.

    That's a really intersting report.

    It is wonderful to be able to identify the Soldier from his button.

    I once worked with a man by the name of Chard from East Lancashire.

    He was a direct relative of Lt Chard VC of Rourkes Drift fame.

    I was reading about the fight at Rourke's Drift.

    Colour Sergeant Frank Bourne, later Lt. Col., was the last surviving member of the defenders of RD and he died on 8 May 1945.
