Some people called this war "WW2 little brother", because it was brutal as ww2, around 20 years have passed since the end of this terrible war, but still Europe have not forget it. Even today, those people who are responsible for the war crimes commited during that war, arent brought to justice. I want to present a small, but very nicely made documentary video: It is dived on 5 small parts. Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3 , Part 4 , Part 5 Its interesting how Europe, UN, and NATO just stood, knowing what kind of crimes are commited, not for a few days or weeks, but for some years. Today (even after 20 years), the region of South Eastern Europe, is still unstable because of this war, which placed muslims on the one side, and christians on the other. Today many people are scared not to see such war start once again.
Are we talking about the civil war during the 90's? Ah...Just clicked the youtube link. Yes it was a shitty place there is no denying that having been over most of former Yugolasvia excluding Serbia. Regards Andy

Regards Andy Yep exactly that war. Nationalism was actually stronger then the one in Germany during the 30s. Serbians were fanatics back then (as it is said in one of the videos).
Drew5233, I was in Bosnia/Croatia in 95,96 and 97 (UN/IFOR). Might have seen you over there?? A shitty place to be at the time sure enough but a beautiful part of the world.
I was in Kos in 2001/2 and had a slipper tour as a PTI in Bos during the Summer of 2004. The worst part about the later was missing the FA Cup final. Millwall (My team) were playing Man Utd.
3 of my mates went in 1991. I've recently seen some pics of them over there as I caught up with one of them on Facebook. Why do people get involved in other peoples' wars ?

I think that we must get involved in war in order to prevent them. Im not saying by fighting for either of the side, but by protecting the civilians, who are not involved in the war. NATO took a side in that war, which was an absolute mistake, NATO bombed the Serbian capital of Belgrad, and destroyed civilian buildings killing civilians, which actually is a war crime. Would somebody explain why nobody from NATO was brought to justice?

In that case i probably flew over you on my way to Australia (2004). Count youself lucky, my team (Hamilton, sleeping giants of Scottish football, since 1874) havn't seen a cup final since 1935!

"How horrible, fantastic, incredible, it is that we should be digging trenches and trying on gas-masks here because of a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing!"
Actually i was down around 10 Deutsche Marks a day as i lost my Local Overseas Allowance by going on a tour?? How does that work! Then again...i did volunteer for two of them....what a mug!
Chatting to a mate at work yesterday who I've known for many years. Back in 1991-92 one of his best mates went to the former Yugoslavia to fight for the Muslims against the Serbs. I remember back then our mate saying he's heard from 'so & so' that he'd shot someone in the head & didn't realise the human body had so much blood in it. Chatting about him yesterday it turns out that this chap had also killed someone in hand to hand combat and then rifled though the dead man's pockets . He found a photo of the dead man's kids. Earlier this year my mate's mate was found hanging. With the photo of the Serbs kids taped to his chest. He'd carried that guilt with him so long he couldn't take it anymore. I'm taking my mates word on this story I wouldn't have thought he'd make it up.
Either that or he was killed by a relative of the dead man who had tracked him down? I wonder how much work plod will put into that job. I remember there was a very good documentary on the TV many years ago (10ish years maybe) about British Muslims going to the Balkans to fight. It was quite interesting, especially the interviews with British Muslims. I wonder how many, if any, went to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight British Soldiers.
Why do people get involved in other peoples' wars ? When your own country's official "wars" appear boring or even none existant, then other people's look far more attractive...especially when you consider the possibility of just being able to bail out of it whenever you choose if you don't really give a toss about the "cause". Beats pushing a broom around a parade square in Germany or being spat at in Belfast anyway! Bloody War Whores, eh? Anyone know of a budget airline doing cheapo 6 monthly returns to Kabul? Dave.
Anyone know of a budget airline doing cheapo 6 monthly returns to Kabul? That reminds me... someone was asking me the other day...does anyone know what name "Executive Outcomes" is operating under these days? *** forget that...they're no longer trading as anything***
