    Hi there

I came upon this site by accident while I was researching where my great uncle's regiment was fighting when he was killed in action...there was a link on a site about the fourth battle of Monte Cassino. I think that he was a part of this battle but am unsure as none of his letters home are specific about where he is...understandably. Hopefully I am on the right track.

Full Name: Terence Paul Denis Casey
    2. Relationship (to researcher): Great Uncle

I am interested in researching my father’s name sake. I received a collection of documents from a relative in the UK about my great uncle. They are a collection of letters, photographs and documents. I am slowly trying to put the pieces of his story together.

Hi Sarah and welcome to the forum.
If you would like to start a thread about your Great Uncle and post any photos and documents you have, members can help. I have found a little bit of information on what the Beds and Herts were doing around the time your great uncle was killed, and I am sure others will have information too.

Link for CWGC. I see he is buried at Cassino War Cemetery in Italy

    Hello and welcome
He does not show on CWGC with the service number or date of death stated
Do you have details of his death at 51 years of age?
Had he left the service by his date of death ?
Assume he could have served during WW1

Service number does show as Green Howards
    Army Number to check:

This search tool can match army numbers from the 1920's to the end of World War 2 which was based on the regiment that a soldier joined initially, and the post war numbering system which is army wide. Pre 1920's, soldiers had regimental numbers so this site cannot be used for matching those.
The army number: 4379479 indicates that the soldier's original unit or date joined was:

    "The Green Howards"

    Hi coffeyc1

It might be a better idea to start a new thread for your relation in the forum section http://ww2talk.com/forums/forum/13-searching-for-someone-military-genealogy/ it will stop it becoming confused with the other searches going on in this thread.

Do you have any more info on your relation, where born, where he died (as CL1 asks was he still in the army when he died) you say he was called Jack did he have other names, was Jack his real name or was he born John etc
