This past weekend (Memorial Day) I premiered a new documentary film featuring the stories and experiences of 20+ WW2 veterans. I've been surprised to find that men, women, old, and young alike have all enjoyed the film. There is no narration or history lesson involved...just the words of those who lived it.

Here's the website address for any that may be interested. There are also several news articles and stories about the film on the site.

I'll be posting some new stories and clips on the site soon as I catch up with the DVD orders.

On a sad note, last night I visited one of the 21 veterans in the film at the hospital (JW Arnold - 9th Infantry Div). I had only met him twice before....once to interview him...and then by surprise at the film's premiere. His family told me that he became ill just a few weeks after 'We Were There' debuted.

The purpose of my visit was to deliver his copy of the film and to have another chance to be around this real hero. He told me thank you again for doing the film, but was very weak at the time. When I left the room his family told me that he lit up when he saw the DVD...and it was something he really needed. They also told me that until 5 years ago his own sons did not know the details of his war experience.

It was a very humbling experience and I hope to visit him again this week. In the time I put together this film, I really felt a bond with those who shared their stories. I've heard the same sentiment from many of the people that have had the opportunity to see this film as well.

Please keep JW Arnold and his family in your prayers!

I will be buying my copy as soon as pay day comes.

I joined this site in the hope that I would get to hear some stories from the veterans themselves so it will be great to watch your DVD.

Many thanks for putting it together!

That's great! I'm sure you'll love it. Not because of anything I did with the editing...but because of the amazing people that are in the film!
