This Saint Christopher Medal was given to, and worn by a United States serviceman throughout WWII. It resembles the American Indianapolis Race logo of a race tire with wings, but it is not the same; I have never seen one like it.
It is in a sealed frame so I can not access the reverse to look for any markings.

Does anyone have any ideas of the origin or any information on the design?
