Mine's a bit of a mish mash. It's the battlefields I've visited along with a memorials around Britian I've seen, mainly concentrating on Manchester and the surrounding milltowns. It's very much a work in progress (I'm updating as we speak) and I've got a lot of stuff to add. There's a bit on Berlin and Marburg too. Battlefield Tours
Excellent! One tip for you, so you get picked up in search engines, re-title the home page to something like 'Durham Light Infantry WW2 1939-1945'. Thanks Paul ,Advice taken. Verrieres

Hello all These are my humble blogs IDF ARMOR IDF 1948 Israel Independence War Any remarks are welcome Good stuff totach, enjoyed a lot of the general armour shots, particularly the extemporised stuff. Funny to think that my Grandad was fighting on the British side during that business. This shot in particular interests me: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_eQNPu6zzxaU/ScP5zTaZ5kI/AAAAAAAALgQ/BEL3ZFRW3d0/s400/BE028967.jpg That vehicle's come up recently, with a couple of shots from different angles, but I now can't find it (may even have been on another forum...)
Aha, Sol has located it for me. This one: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/weapons-technology-equipment/21828-mystery.html Any chance you could add more to that thread totach7?
I'm in the process of setting up a site centred on my Grandad's WW2 service with the 2nd Batt East Yorkshire Regiment using Google Sites, does anyone have any tips on what seems to work and what doesn't? I'm thinking of it being a mix of my Grandad's account, general accounts of the battalion, photos etc etc. Is it better to have all the content on one page or split across many pages?

Good luck with it. All depends how much you want to put on initially. If you're starting with a relatively smaller amount of data - your granddad's background - keep it together. But if you have a lot, I'd say split it into sections/pages if you can. If one page gets very long it can be hard for the reader to find info and to keep up attention span. Have you had a look at some of the sites on the thread yet? You might get an idea of what you like and what you don't. All the best, Diane
Thanks Diane, good points well made. I have had a look at some of the above sites and picked up some pointers, so hopefully before too long I'll be able to add my site to the list
Home My Grandad during WW2. Also includes WW1 with my Great Grandfathers. Goes of into family history, and includes trips to Malta and Italy. Liverpool And Merseyside Remembered - Home stories from people who served and lived through the two world wars who were from or connected to Liverpool and the Merseyside are. Only a 3 months old so still being updated.
Hopefully of some interest to people re Anti-Invasion defences (note I'm not brilliant with website building, so the quality is not up there with some of the sites listed on this thread!!) website: Suffolk Anti-invasion defences blog to go along with website: WW2 Defences - Suffolk
Yes: finders keepers. Wot, in the first post Adam quoted a site that does not belong to him, so I assumed that one could post sites one found interesting. If the sites actualy belong to the poster, then so much the better Good one Za I don't have time to manage a website, but I like this one - www.stalag18a.org.uk
