WW2 Victoria and George Cross Plaques on Houses

I've been chatting to a member today and they mentioned about the 'Blue Plaques' on peoples houses. The ones that say such and such lived here.

Does anyone know where this one is -No location is given.

Does anyone know of any WW2 VC and GC ones where they live?

There seem to lots of regional ones, Andy. Might be worth googling with the place-name, if you know it, eg:

Andy; Have ye not thought of ringing English Heritage? I mean, surely They must have some central register of where, and for who, their plaques have been put?

I'd also imagine, if ye got a direct e mail addy to who ever deals with such, and sent them a list of names ye interested in ....? Probably brighten up their day by giving them something to actually do

 

Steve it was a curiosity thing regarding members and getting anyone local to post it up.....

Andy; It's late. I've partaken. I can't be sure I fully grasp this. (I can barely grasp how I've been let in for the second time 'today' ?! Doubt my run of luck will last though)

Anyway; I'm figuring this has something to do with the matter ye explained to me, in private, about VC's, their graves, and the overwhelming generosity of spirit displayed by some here ..... (Whistling .....)
