With the passing of Harry Patch made me wonder about the age of the oldest Veteran of WW2. Someone enlisting at 18 in 1939 would be 97 this year but I am sure that there was someone younger who upped his age (I tried it unsuccessfully durimg the war) just to enlist who would be nearer the 100 mark this year also someone from the 'Boys' service could well have entered Regular service by the start of the war. So do we have a Veteran of WW2 who has reached his 100th birthday? Tony
Got my sums wrong he would now be in his 88th year - Earing Humble Pie and standing in the corner. Tony
We probably do have World War II veterans exceeding the age of 100, many might be living in foreign countries where veterans may not have the same level of appreciation has they do in North America, most of Europe, etc. The best place to look off the top of my head would probably be places with high life expectancy (Japan, Canada, Macau, etc).
