The granddaughter of an dld friend and neighbour has just informed me that Peter Malone of the 6th Black Watch has died to-day

at the grand old age of 95 years - we were neighbours for many years until the war got in the way - and much to my shock I found

myself behind him on the troopship heading for Algeria - and again at the ALEXANDER Club in Rome where he told me of the KIA

of another neighbour……His granddaughter had asked me some five years ago for an excerpt for his scrap book and apparently he

was tickled to hear from me…so another D Day dodger has gone…..

    Cheers

    Rest In Peace Peter Malone.

Seems to be all too frequent news of late on here.
