WW2 Television documentary - Looking for Royal Navy Veterans & descendants

Discussion in 'Veteran Accounts' started by Rebecca - WW2 research, Mar 29, 2019.

  1. Dear WW2 Talk members,

I am working on a documentary about the Second World War for a major British broadcaster. I have found this forum to be an invaluable source of information. It is wonderful to see so many members preserving memories of the war, so I am keen to have the input of the members on this thread if possible please.

I am currently doing some research about certain Royal Navy ships, and I am keen to speak to veterans (and their families) who served on the following ships between these dates:

    - HMS Impulsive (between September 1939 and February 1942)
    - HMS Verulam (between September 1943 and November 1944)
    - Survivors of the HMS Courageous sinking

We are trying to build a picture of what life was like for the people serving on these ships, at the heart of some of the war’s most challenging campaigns. It would therefore be brilliant to speak to anyone who has memories of their time on these ships, or members whose parents/grandparents might have served on them.

I look forward to hearing from members who may be able to help with this.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Becca

I notice in your user name title that it has -DLI research? I know someone was in touch with the DLI 1920-46 website about a similar TV project on the DLI ? Could this have been yourself and what happened to that project? Is it still ongoing?
    Best of luck anyway :)
