I have recently set up a justgiving.com page for St Dunstans and Royal Star & Garter Homes and put the links on the homepage of my site war books, ww2 books, world war two books, book, military books, military history books, books about ww2, non fiction for anyone who wants to make a donation to them. Just giving is used by hundreds of charities, you can set up a page for a charity if your doing a fun run etc, they then take 5 per cent for admin but then claim the gift aid back of 20 per cent from the Inland Revenue and forward the dosh to the charities. I heard from St Dunstans (for those that don't know they help blind war veterans) after I set the page up a couple of days ago, I asked them how many people they are currently helping. I thought people here might be interested in the answer. 'We have 3079 St Dunstaners at the moment. 11 of them served in Iraq/ Afghanistan, 1844 served in WW2.' If you remember St Dunstans was infamously rejected by the lottery for a grant to redevelop their care home back in 1999. Here is the page for them both; St Dunstans Nicholas Pringle is fundraising for St Dunstan's Royal Star & Garter Home Nicholas Pringle is fundraising for The Royal Star & Garter Homes for Disabled Ex-Service Men & Women Heres a vid of the veterans at the Royal Star & Garter home with their wheels on fire!!! Great video-Not sure who is having more fun, the staff or the clients. I'll make a donation from the next diary I get paid to copy. Cheers Andy
