Sounds like a life assurance policy number/detail - I think the location of stamps seems to have been pretty random on all papers.

    Was that the question ?

Prior to the advent of the NHS in 1948 - most everyone had an affiliation with an Insurance company called "The Panel" which paid for all medical needs - this sound like the details of that company he was with - on the wrong page...!

This affiliation helped in adding years to the pension criteria

    Cheers

    Definitely on the wrong page!
On my dad's army form B200d when he joined up ,at the bottom they asked if he was insured under the National Health Insurance Act and he put the Prudential in Bradford with his membership number.
I think it is just a life assurance/savings policy or something.

    Lesley

ps it looks like Prud(ential) and Wolverhampton

    As Tom and Lesley say:

On my father's records, that bit, which is stamped on your granddad's one, is printed on one of his B200s - it has N.H. and L. on the left hand side of the box. In my Dad's case he was insured by Pearl.

Hopefully you can find what your grand father did in Burma/India and West Africa as easily.

    thanks

I think your right guys when i blow up the image i could just make out contributions.

Theres plenty for me to look into in his records especially his service in the RWAFF.

His rank was mainly BSM did reach RSM and CSM which i ddnt think they had in the RA?
