Dear Sirs, re. Paul A. Blagrove

I am trying to find details of my father's war service after 1942 when, as a newly gazetted officer ( through the ranks of the 4th and 50th RTR and Sandhurst-winning the MM at Arras before Dunkirk) he was eventually posted in 1944 to 48th AKS in CMF (I assume Central Mediteranean Force) under the RAOC. Can anyone help me with the initials, AKS and the purpose of this unit? I believe my father ended 1946 as traffic officer for Vienna. He was eventually posted to RPC at Detmold BAOR where the family joined him in 1949
His record in the RTR has been fairly straight forward to check but I have been stumped by this and his army records are extremely sparse in this area. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Tony Blagrove

Hi Tony - welcome to the forum.

A.K.S is Army Kinema Service. I've looked for a War Diary reference for 48 AKS, but as of yet have found nothing.

Nice find Colin. He might even be mentioned in the diary since he was a commissioned officer.

I believe that the name was changedd to SKC - Services Kinema Corporation, there may be some assistance there.
