I have various photos with Scammel low loaders with Shermans, I think an Italian tank, winching I believe a Panther on board, one with a wrecked Scammel tractor unit on..

I served in 13 Armd wksp from 53 to 56 and have loads of photos - some of vehicles. Our kit then was of WW2 vintage!
    Interested?

IWM still seems to be ever-expanding the picture archive...
(Straying off the 'REME Vehicles' brief on some, but what the hell - nice photos with a REME connection.)

I always ask the old boys in my working mans club if the had been the army. One guy said that he had been in the R.E.M.E in 1947 48. I asked if he had any photographs I could copy. He brought this lot in. They showed the guys dismantling guns in Singapore.

Great Shots, Pensioner - cheers, and say thanks to your mate.

Hmmm, maybe we need a hunt for the last Scammel in British service thread...
