WW2 Memorial Rangoon

    Hello,

    I’m researching my uncle, commemorated on the Rangoon Memorial at Taukkyan.

    Details:

    • Name: Antony Owen Eastwell
    • Rank: Private
    • Unit: 1st Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders
    • Date of death: 24 April 1944
    • Memorial: Rangoon Memorial (Face 17)
    I understand a full photographic survey of the memorial exists.

    Would anyone happen to have an image of Face 17, or ideally the section covering the EAST–EAT names where EASTWELL appears?

    Many thanks for any help — it would mean a great deal to our family.

    Hi Cressida,

    I do have a photo of Face 17 thankfully covering Pte Eastwell's inscription. This came from Tony Buckley's wonderful collection of images. His website is: Home - asia war graves
