I have an album of RAPC photos 1943/4 - Meerut, Delhi, Bombay, Deolali, Kashmir - there are a lot of people in the photos, sadly few are named 1940s India - a set on Flickr
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for linking to that album , no need to duplicate the post though. Cheers
Apologies, I'm new, I wasn't sure where to put it and I wanted people who were interested to be able to find it.
Hi Louise, Great photos and what a bargain you got there. On EBay a couple of weeks ago there was a similar album for sale. It was attributed to the 194 Squadron who served the Chindits in Air supply in 1943/44. These photos were an amazing pictorial history, as are yours. The EBay album sold for over £500. So look after your one, as you never know what it might be worth to somebody. Steve
Ditto the above and welcome... Look after them or sell them on... they have a value in the right market...
Hi Louise Thanks for sharing the photos. Quite a superb collection. I know some friends over at FIBIS who would absolutely love to see them. Families In British India Society
Many thanks indeed for sharing these Louise. Having lived in India for 5 years ( 2005-09) they brought back happy memories - and little has changed in many ways from the 1940's
