    Hi.
Im new to this site and i ma trying to locate any information on ww2 dispatch riders.
My grandfather was William Edward diplock that served in France, and very little is known of his service.
According to mum,his older daughter, its believed that he was in the army to start with, then loaned out to the RAF,to which i can only just remember his badge with wings on,as a kid.
He never spoke on this subject, though he did have a bike injury during his service, which led him to having a damaged finger, surgeons wanted to remove his middle finger, but he refused and went back on duty. His bike was a BSA,so im told.
I've tried every known site to find any info, but keep coming up blank.
He passed away in Kent in 1988 .
Can any give an idea to work with, such as unit, diary's,training camps to ride a motor bike.
I have been given the forces application forms, but still need more information to help locate his details.
    Please could any one help.
    I would be very grateful.
    Steve Haynes (grandson)
