Paul, looking good. I see some very good photos there, wonder what fantastic photographer took them ? ;)
Keep it up, if we do get abroad this year I'll do my best to get you some more.
I'll try and get CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY, LEUBRINGHEN for you as I want to call in and see Lorne Marr and the other ASH Cans there.

Been meaning to visit that Polish memorial off the a40 for years, signs to it all over the shop but I'm always so distracted by the awful descent into London. Must make more of an effort.

    Paul,

I can offer my services for any in Calvados you haven't got. The only thing I can't give any timescales, it's a matter of when I'm there I can take some piccies for you

    Hi Paul

Have a look at the attached to see if it would be of any use to you when you get around to your Cassino page.
I took this on my 2005 visit and I thought it best captured the spirit of the setting, with the Monastery poised above.

Just a note to say I have finally had the chance to update the site and add new material in the Belgium and France sections; Holland and Italy sections coming soon.

Thanks to those who supplied photos.

Er....Paul, you haven't added Leubringhen, Dieppe or St Valery-en-Caux to French section or De Panne to Belgium.

One thing I've noticed on my previous travels through France is that cemeteries of French war dead are strangely absent on many maps. Does anyone know where a few of them are located? I'm particularly interested in those containing graves of those killed in 1939-40, but later war is fine too. Thank you!

Oops - I will have to see where I have put the photos. They weren't in the WW2 cems folder.

You can buy an atlas of French war cemeteries from places like the Thiepval visitors centre and the Historial Museum at Peronne. They don't tell you much about who is buried in them. French cemeteries are also usually marked on Michelin and IGN maps.

Has it been re-printed, Paul? I know of a few people who've been desperate to obtain this but have found this atlas almost impossible to find over the past couple of years because it went out of print shortly after its first run (even the publishers haven't been able to supply any). Luckily , I got mine (from Peronne) when it first came out, but I haven't been able to find it available anywhere since (though , admittedly, I've only been looking half-heartedly).

Pretty sure I saw it in both places in 2007. I will check with my 'informant' there.

Cheers Paul. Hopefully, I'll be able to stop scanning so many pages from it for people if it's now readily available again!:D

May /June 1940 graves to be found in the french National Cemeteries at Zuydcoote, Leffrinckouke, Haubourdin, Ablain-St-Nazaire, Neuville-St-Vaast, Amiens ("St.Acheul"), Conde-Folie, etc, etc. Those are the ones in nearest vicinity to Calais, but many more are to be found in other regions of the actions (see Owen's thread on Sedan, for example - La Marfee is illustrated, but there are another 2 French cemeteries near Sedan (Floing and "Torcy", the first of which is mainly a 1940 cemetery)), some in CWGC cemeteries such as Kemmel Chateau and Oostaverne (one in each).
