What was the date when Monty went there?
It was an unknown Warwicks chap he was photographed by wasn't it?

Yes it was. Somewhere I have some photos taken by a Brit. Will see if I can find them.

I have a friend who was there post war, and memory says the story was immediately post VE Day. I understand that two from each Regiment were chosen and Mel went there to represent the South Saskatchewan Regiment. Next time we play crib, I will get the date from him if I can.

Neat to read this in the regimental diary, for sure!

    cheers,
    phil

    Nice one, Dave.

Owen, the Canadians were busy at Boulougne and Calais in September, so couldn't join Monty!!
