Hello. I am more familiar with WW1 Arras. Are there any WW2 burials in the Arras area?

There's quite a few, many of them in Great War Cemeteries. Places like Bois Carree, Bucquoy Road all have WW2 graves and if you do a search for 'Mont St Eloi' on here you find some of the posts I've made about the burials and fighting there.

I'll be going on a WW1 Arras walking trip in a few weeks. All things going well, (weather wise that is, as it really will be a walking trip -- No car), I can visit these cemeteries which have WW2 casualties:

    Athies Communal Extension,
    Point du Jour,
    Fampoux Communal,
    Arras Communal.

If you have a relative there or other research that you're doing and need a photo please let me know and I'll do my level best.

    Photo Offer is now closed.

Thanks for the link Paul. I bought it a short while back after it was recommended on the gwf. In fact I briefly conversed with you over there (Ulsterlad2). I have used it to plan my 4 days there (3 walking days). I'm hoping to walk in parts of the XVII & VI corps sectors as a local bus can get me right to the starting locations. Also VII corps but starting and finishing at Tilloy instead of London.... again because it suits a bus commuter like me :). Really looking forward to using it 'in the field'.

Wonder if you could please manage a pic of these Welsh Guardsmen's graves. Any would be appreciated, esp if there are any graves marked Unknown Welsh Guardsman.

Ah - ok. Hope it's a good trip for you.

If you get to Beaurains, go and see this memorial to the RTR commemorating their actions in May 1940. GE placemarker for it attached.
