    I took these 06-07-2015. This memorial is 200 yards or so South from the Church along the Battlefields trail.

    Wellington X LP286
    Op. Training.

    Took off at 1238 Hours from Chipping Warden for a cross country. The aircraft returned to base in the wake of starboard engine failure and failed to land on the first attempt, going round again the aircraft stalled and crashed at 1403 hours into Edgcote Park on the south-east side of the airfield, catching fire immediately.

    Crew as listed above.

    Took Off from Chipping Warden for night training. crashed at 2310 hours into the nearby village while trying to go round again, bursting into flames.

    Crew.

    P/O. C H. Hayes Injured (Died the following day of his injuries)
    Sgt. C W. Brumby Injured
    Sgt. Ralph Injured.

    Also saw this within the Church. The signature of King George R I. The photograph of the Wellington was up for sale that day at the money raising event within the Church. I was told to put in a offer for it if I would like to have it, sadly no-,more room for such delights. No-doubt someone bought it, just hope that it's gone to a good home.
