    hi
i have just found these in the loft, i think they were given to me when a family member died years ago, i am now trying to find out as much as possible about them. could you guys help? i have looked at the forums and i think james would be best lol

from my own research i think they are from a u-boat or some sort of sea going vessel because of the M but that is as far as i have gotten.

"Tuna can" leitz 7x50 , they look to be in quite good order.
Rainguard is missing but this is almost always par for the course, nice set.
The info below is from Dr S Rohan's book.
Sorry for not doing thsi via an on line album - presently locked out of mine. :(

Covers of the sets are usually damaged by this stage , they tend to dry out rather badly - the slight lifting is nothing to be worried about.
Light , comfortable to use , they are quite a good set.:)

Value approx. 170 -240 sterling depending on condition.
They generally go for good money on eBay depending on how many people are bidding , with such good coverings approx. 240 ish would be my guess.

That is a nice set and a good case. :)

Few sets which surface are fully complete - the rubber eye cups which clip to the lid of the case and the red / amber filters , rarely seen. - in this set a nice add on . :)

Attached Leitz two sets which I have owned in recent years.

The dishonest have started to forge quite good copies of the Leitz and Zeiss eagles which add to the value of sets , from poor quality they are now quite good.
The set without coverings had to be be totally rebuilt - the coverings were largely missing when the set was bought.
